EPISODE 60 - "Pompeii and Circumstance"
What’s New, SCOOBY-DOO?
SEASON 1, EPISODE 13

9/17/2018 - It’s lucky for The WB that they released this episode in February of 2003, a scant few months before the release of Disney’s The Lizzie McGuire Movie. After all, no one wanted to create the impression that the Italy-centric Scooby-Doo installment was cribbing from the first-ever theatrical film based on a Disney Channel series.

Speaking of which, that movie’s soundtrack was certified platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association and 2x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America! If anyone was being honest with themselves they’d know it was all due to Hilary Duff’s smash hit “Why Not” being featured.

  • 6:44 - For those unfortunate enough to not be familiar with the song being references, consider yourselves blessed:

  • 19:03 - Neapolitan ice cream is also known as harlequin ice cream! Try asking for it at your local ice cream parlour today!

  • 34:34-36:33 - Check it out! Conall JT is a big fan of this podcast, and creates top tier Scooby-Doo content which is arguably better than anything on this website-

  • 44:11 - The Batmobile in the Christopher Nolan trilogy of Batman films was called the Tumbler. [insert played-out SJW joke here]

  • 48:47 - Recent articles have actually begun deriding Pixar, now owned by Disney, for likewise turning into a sequel factory.

  • 56:41 - The Scooby-Doo Justice Project Podcast is “dedicated to the belief that most of the ‘villains’ in the original TV series ‘Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?’ were actually innocent. We believe that these men weren’t just mistakenly accuse d of their crimes, but were purposely FRAMED.”
